Charles is a Director of Turpin Smale catering Consultants, a leading hospitality consultancy. Charles has management and extensive catering and conference consultancy experience, with clients in the university, visitor attractions, commercial and high street markets, delivering both strategic and operational consulting projects both in the UK and Middle East.

Charles’ earlier career includes a variety of senior operations, development and commercial roles in the hotels and restaurants divisions at Whitbread Plc and Marriott Hotels where he held the role of Food & Beverage Director, responsible for the £200m F&B business from restaurant and bar dining to large banqueting and events. Prior to this he served as an officer in the Army.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, is a non–executive Director of The Ludlow Food Centre an artisan food producer and farm shop, café and hotel with a turnover of £5.5m.

Charles is a non-executive Director & Trustee of the Hope Centre in Northampton a charity that supports the homeless and providing support for individuals to gain employment and enjoy a family life.
